We take everyone for a ride and you are not sure if you want to ride your own Motorcycle or Motor scooter.
Have been thinking of taking up riding a motorcycle or motor scooter?
There is a lot to consider. What will you use it for? Would a motor scooter or motorcycle best suit your needs? What do you need to know when buying riding gear? How do you get my licence? So many questions and so many places to get answers.
We are keen riders and we love to talk ‘all things riding’. This being the case, we want to help you with your decision making. So, we have put together a special ride just for you.
Firstly we are NOT a motorcycle training company and with cover this as part of our mid trip conversation. Remember all the information you will received from us on the ride is of a general nature.
For our pillion rides our bookings are made with Trike Trips who are authorised by New South Wales Point to Point. Trike Trips has public liability insurance and is accredited with the New South Wales Point To Point, Accreditation number BSP-401716.
All the riders have New South Wales Passenger Transport licences.
So what happens on the day?
The ride goes for 2 hours, most likely a bit longer. We meet you at Sutherland. If you are coming by car or train we will advise you where the meting place will be.
After introductions, we will brief you on riding as a pillion, Unfortunately that is where you will be seated during today’s ride. There will be photo opportunities with you on the front seat when we have stopped.
Once we have geared up ready with the helmet, jacket and gloves we supply we will be on our way.
After leaving Sutherland, we will ride through the Royal National Park. This is a relaxed ride with speed limits of 50, 60 and 80 kph. As the road winds you will feel how different riding is to driving as we lean into the corners. You will feel the temperature change as we enter and leave the shaded areas.Take in the smells you miss when driving in a car with the windows up and the air conditioning on.
We will stop at our turn around point which is south of the Royal National Park. Here we will have a break to discuss how the ride has gone. Over our non-alcoholic drinks there is more time to talk about riding. Don’t hold back on the questions as that is why we are here.
After our break we will return to Sutherland and if you have any further questions we can talk about those before we part.
Again this is only an introduction to riding and is not to be thought of lessons on riding, that is for the registered training companies.
Why are we taking this route?
The ride through the Royal National Park has speed limits at which, as a learner, you will be legally allowed to ride. The other roads we will travel along offer more variety of speed and conditions.
What will we ride on?
We use our Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe. Although is much larger than what you will be allowed when you start riding it provides a relaxed ride with two people on board.
How much does this ride cost?
To keep the price down, we have made the only pickup point to be Sutherland as it is near our base. The all inclusive price is $115.00 .
A helmet with intercom, jacket and gloves are supplied. To ensure we have the correct sizes, at the time of booking please advise us of your approximate weight and height so we can ensure the correct sizes for the helmet, jacket and gloves.
A complimentary non-alcoholic drink during our break.
Due to the current Covid-19 situation please refer to our We’re Covid safe page.
What do I need to bring?
On the day you will need long pants and enclosed footwear. Remember to bring a camera and/or video to record those special moments. You may also wish to bring, sunscreen, lip balm, moisturiser and a bottle of water.
What if the weather in bad or I cannot travel?
If the weather forecast is for bad weather or there is a reason the ride cannot occur, you will be contacted and offered an alternate date, if you are unable to travel on the alternative date you will receive a full refund.
If we are caught in an unexpected rain, wet weather clothing is carried on all rides just in case.
Are there any restrictions?
There is a passenger weight restriction of 120 kg on the motorcycle.
The rider will assess you and if the they deem you as unsuitable to ride for whatever reason, you will be refused travel. This may include you being under the influence of alcohol, abusive or rude.
All riders are authorised by New South Wales Point to Point.
